Worry Chompers privacy policy

Worry Chompers collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything your child makes stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Who this policy is for

Worry Chompers is a gentle app that lets a child express and let go of worries by drawing, writing, colouring or recording them, and "feeding" them to a friendly character. It is designed to be used by children, with a grown-up nearby. This policy explains how the app handles information. The short answer is that it keeps everything on your own device.

Information we collect

None. Worry Chompers does not create an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any personal details, and does not collect analytics, usage data, advertising identifiers, or location. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no third-party tracking software of any kind.

Your child's content

Drawings, written worries, coloured pictures, voice recordings, and the Chompers your child builds are stored only on your device. This content is never uploaded, shared, or transmitted to us or to anyone else. The app does not require an internet connection to create, feed, or review worries.

Permissions

• Microphone. Used only when your child chooses to record a spoken worry. Recordings are saved on your device and are never uploaded.
• Notifications. If a grown-up turns on the optional "Worry time" reminder, it is scheduled locally on the device. No push notifications are used and nothing is sent over the internet.

Saving a copy

The only time content leaves the app is when a grown-up deliberately chooses to save a copy from the grown-ups area, for example saving a drawing to the device's photos, or a recording to a folder the grown-up picks. Even then, the copy is written to your own device and is never sent to us or to any third party. There is no way for a child to share a worry out of the app.

Children's privacy

Because Worry Chompers collects no personal information at all, it is built to comply with children's privacy rules including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation as it applies to children (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, and we do not carry out any form of behavioural advertising or profiling.

Third parties

Worry Chompers does not share data with third parties because it does not collect any. No third-party software development kits that gather personal data are included in the app.

Keeping and deleting information

All content stays on your device for as long as you keep it. A grown-up can delete individual worries, or all of them, from the grown-ups area. Uninstalling the app removes all of its on-device data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
